The Medical Imaging Training Immersive Environment (MITIE) system is a 3D VR environment that allows students to manipulate a patient and radiographic equipment in order to produce a real-time generated image for comparison with a gold standard. As with VR initiatives in other health disciplines the software mimics clinical practice as much as possible and uses stereo immersive display technology to enhance immersion and realism.

The software was developed in close collaboration with Medical Imaging academics at a provider University with funding from a Health Workforce Australia “Simulated Learning Environments” grant.
The C-ARM Module has been delivered on time and currently in final user testing. The simulation environment will be used as part of the curriculum for radiography students at Queensland University of Technology and subsequently be rolled out by Health Workforce Australia  to other educational institutions around the country.

With the successful completion and delivery of the MITIE X-RAY and CT modules E2E was engaged to develop a C-ARM Module.
